The new inhabitant of the Baku Zoological Park is Simba
"Simba," a five-year-old male lion brought from the Almaty Zoo of the Republic of Kazakhstan, has become a permanent resident of the Baku Zoological Park. Initially, he was kept under veterinary supervision in the park's quarantine zone for one month. Later, he was moved to a permanent living area with two female lions, successfully completing the adaptation process, and they have now formed a family. The transfer of the male lion to the Baku Zoological Park was carried out as part of an international exchange program with the Almaty Zoo.
The clinical practice for students of Khazar University has been successfully completed at the Baku Zoological Park
From October 9 to December 1, 2024, as part of the joint collaboration between the Baku Zoological Park and the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Engineering at Khazar University, clinical practice was conducted for fifth-year students specializing in "Veterinary Medicine" in accordance with the curriculum. The program, covering both theoretical and practical aspects, provided students with the opportunity to apply their knowledge in veterinary science in real conditions, gaining detailed information about the treatment and care of animals. The practice was aimed at both meeting modern requirements and developing practical skills that allow students to apply theoretical knowledge gained during their studies.
Training sessions aimed at improving the welfare of animals have been held at the Baku Zoological Park.
From November 18 to 22, training sessions and seminars for keepers were organized at the Baku Zoological Park, conducted by specialists from The Animal Behavior Community, invited from Israel.
