On October 29, 2022, the first night tour was organized at the Baku Zoological Park. The tour lasted for 2 hours, with over 200 participants. During the tour, visitors observed the zoo’s inhabitants at night.
The goal of the tour was to introduce the nocturnal lifestyle of the animals. Participants were able to see what happens in the animal world after sunset and get a closer look at the species that are active during the night. Throughout the tour, guests were guided by volunteers of the Baku Zoological Park. They could either walk around the area or take a ride in an electric vehicle. Additionally, the tour guides provided information about the animals.
During the electric vehicle ride, guests had the chance to see mongooses, lions, leopards, raccoons, otters, zebras, bears, wolves, and jaguars. While walking, participants encountered baboons, predatory birds, spotted deer, tigers, wild goats, and muflons. Visitors were able to witness the dominance of animals at night and their mysterious and intimidating gazes. It was during this night tour that visitors were able to take photos and videos capturing these moments.
It should be noted that such tours are planned to be held regularly.
After the completion of reconstruction work on October 7, 2021, the Baku Zoological Park reopened its doors to visitors and began hosting numerous events. The main goal of these events is not only to provide interesting and enjoyable experiences but also to raise awareness about nature, fostering love and care for the living world, especially for Azerbaijan's rare and endangered animal species.
