Representatives of the European Association of Zoos and Aquariums (EAZA) visited the Baku Zoological Park.
At the request of the Baku Zoological Park, representatives from the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA), a leading organization that plays a key role in setting global standards for zoos and aquariums, visited the Baku Zoo. The main goal of the visit was for the representatives to assess the current status of the zoo in order to evaluate its potential membership in EAZA. Achieving membership in EAZA would be a significant milestone for Baku Zoo, marking its recognition as a leading institution in the global zoo and aquarium community. During the visit, the activities carried out at the Baku Zoological Park, the action plan for future implementation, the work of the keepers, and the existing conditions related to animal welfare were thoroughly analyzed. The representatives also conducted a general overview of the zoo's territory, assessed its compliance with international standards, and provided recommendations regarding future development directions.
