A small mammal belonging to the family of Squirrels of the order of Predators of the class of Mammals. It is found everywhere in Azerbaijan. It is more numerous in the foothill forests and bushes. It is also widespread in the plains. It lives mainly in rocky places. It is a predator. Its body length is 21-26 cm, the tail length is 2-5 cm, and its weight is 70-105 g. Its body is elongated. It has dense and short fur. Its fur is yellowish-gray in summer and gray in winter. The fur on the chest and belly is white. Its head is small, and its face is relatively wide.
