Hirkan National Park

It is a species of bird of prey belonging to the River blackbird family of the order of the Golden-billed falcons of the class of birds. It nests along the Caspian coast, the Lankaran lowland, along the Kura, Araz, Samur, Turyanchay, Gabyrri rivers, and in the Gizylagach National Park. The mass of the female is 1.6-2.0, the mass of the male is 1.2-1.6 kg. Its body length is 55-58 cm, and the length of its wings with spread is 145-170 cm. The upper feathers of its body are brown, the feathers of the head, chest and abdomen are white. It is found in wetlands rich in fish, in the plains and mountains. It is recorded from March-April to October. Sometimes it is also observed in the winter season. It nests in trees, sometimes on rocks.
