Southern and western Africa, especially savannas and open woodlands. Currently, this species is widely bred in many countries of the world, including Asia and Europe, both in domestic and farm settings.
Guinea fowl live in flocks of 25-30 individuals. They hide in tall trees at night to protect themselves from danger. When excited, they tend to run instead of fly. They can cover more than 10 km during the day.
