More than half of the world's rabbit population lives in North America. It also belongs to Southwestern Europe, Southeast Asia, the island of Sumatra, some islands of Japan, as well as certain parts of Africa and South America.
Rabbits are mammals characterized by their fast movements and sensitive instincts. Their long ears play an important role not only for hearing, but also for regulating body temperature. Thanks to their strong hind legs, rabbits can run at high speed and change direction suddenly in seconds when threatened. Their fur changes color to match their environment; this gives them a natural camouflage advantage. Rabbits reproduce very quickly, and this feature ensures the survival of the species. Although they appear calm and graceful, they are agile and intelligent enough to survive in the wild.
