Korchay State Nature Reserve

A species of animal belonging to the family of hares of the order of lagomorphs of the class of mammals. It is distributed in all geographical regions of Azerbaijan The body length is 57-68 cm, weight 4-6 kg, rarely reaching 7 kg. It has long ears and a long wedge-shaped tail, black or blackish-brown in color with white on the upper side. Its eyes are reddish-brown. Its hind limbs are longer, but its paws are short and narrow. There are large rings around the eyes. The fur is shiny and soft. In autumn, the summer fur gradually falls out, and a dense and thick winter fur replaces it.
