The common buzzard has eyesight that is about 8 times stronger than that of humans, allowing it to track its prey from very high altitudes. During the incubation period, both the female and male bird take turns guarding the eggs. After the chicks hatch, the mother bird takes care of her chicks without leaving the nest for two weeks. The male bird provides food for both the mother and the chicks by hunting small mammals, birds, and insects.
