Nests near human settlements, and feeds on low-lying meadows, fields, river floodplains and wetlands. Inhabits Europe and Asia, and winters in India and tropical Africa, Azerbaijan (Lankaran, Masally, Kurdamir, İsmayilli, Shirvan NP, Aghgol NP, Nakhchivan AR)

White storks have a graceful appearance and very long legs. They use them to wade through deeper waters or high grass looking for food, and use their long necks to stretch down and catch the prey
